All public requests for new street lights are to be made through your local council. Street lights are usually owned by either the local council or the Department of Transport and Main Roads and we install and maintain the lights on their behalf.
Local councils and the Department of Transport and Main Roads can find out more about street lighting connections and disconnections.

We need a completed application for all requests to have new street lights installed. This application can be completed via our Electrical Partners Portal or via the hardcopy of the application form.
Read more about the process on our public (street) lighting web page.
Please note: You will need to show us evidence of the Local Government Authority or Transport & Main Roads acceptance of costs. This ensures the ongoing expenses are charged to them.

Please report all street light issues via our Customer Self Service portal or call us on 13 12 53.
